Well Brad and Terry, looks like none of us are in the Quiznos target market. I end up in a real quandary analyzing messages like what the Quiznos folks have been putting out. I don't like them, but then you look at (recent) sales figures and they seem to be doing well enough.

Could they be doing better without the innuendo? I think so. In a side by side match-up in my neighborhood a Quiznos moved in right next to a Subway. The Quiznos was gone after a few years, the Subway is still there. For the most part Subways message has been crystal clear for years.

So those were rats? I thought they were really ugly moles. Whatever they were, they were disgusting and decidedly UN-appetizing. It took me a long time to pass a Quiznos without thinking of those rat-moles and if I happen to remember then now while I'm eating . . . it's not a good thing.

So the phallic sandwiches are a little gross in their own way, and they certainly don't make me hungry.

Maybe that's why I eat my subs at Subways.

Fred, This isn't the first time Quizno's has gone over the top with their advertising. They've had some really horrible campaigns that in our area have driven people from their doors in droves. The problem I see with this campaign is that not only has it got nothing to do with food, it's unappetizing. The creative folks must have been inspired by the Seinfeld episode where George tries to combine sex, food, and TV. They should have watched the whole episode though. Things didn't work out very well for George.
